Mr, C. just got done reading an article from the LA times called “Housing funds for the port?” It describes how the city of Gulfport Louisiana is trying to steal $600 million in federal housing funds to restore and expand the port of Gulfport. The same federal HUD money that should be used to help lower income residents.
It seems that the contractors are stealing federal money here in America like they have been stealing money from us for the last five years in Iraq. Is impeachment still off the table madam house speaker? If it is, the perhaps the BushDog Democrats should be off the table next election cycle.
Housing funds for the port?
Many of Mississippi’s poor still await financial help with Katrina damage. But Gulfport has other plans for HUD money.

GULFPORT, MISS. — Most days, Luvenia Thomas sits in a wheelchair outside her dank bungalow on 21st Street. She says she cannot breathe inside.
More than two years after Hurricane Katrina tore up her roof and flooded her home, brown water stains darken her ceilings, and her floors are bare. She has pulled up most of her carpeting, but still she says she cannot rid her home of mold.
“I don’t know what to do,” said Thomas, 54, who is disabled and living on a fixed income. She has not been able to receive state assistance because the damage was caused by wind rather than flooding. “The roof needs fixing, the walls need fixing, the floors need fixing. The whole house needs fixing.”
In low-income neighborhoods across coastal Mississippi, many homeowners are still patching their roofs with blue tarp, positioning plants to collect drips from living room ceilings, and taping paper over window cracks. Most say they have yet to receive financial assistance from Mississippi officials.

Not that it should come as a surprise, but King George W. Bushtard vetoed a bipartisan bill to expand the SCHIP children’s health plan by 35 billion dollars over the next five years. Compare the proposed 35 billion increase spread over five years to the 150 billion dollar request by his majesty to continue the occupation of Iraq.
It is certainly good to know that our compassionate conservatard decider in chief cares more about paying his Halliburton and Blackwater leaches than helping keep American children healthy. According to King George’s logic, he is keeping America safe by fighting the Islam-O-Fascists over in Iraq. And at the same time he is helping to shorten the lifespan of American children. A win-win situation in his mind we guess.
It makes us at The Conservatard ask who the greater threat is. Is it the Islam-O-Fascists or the King Bushtard? God bless the good old US of A!
From CNN:
WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Bush on Wednesday vetoed legislation expanding a children’s health insurance program by $35 billion over five years.

President Bush says he vetoed the SCHIP bill because it was a step toward “federalizing” medicine.
Bush exercised the veto at 10 a.m. ET before leaving the White House for a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to discuss the federal budget and taxes.

Mr. C. has to apologize to his reader(s?) for not posting in almost a month. You see, Mr. C has been on a vacation, of sorts. An all paid trip by the Bushtard administration to an undisclosed location in the southwestern US.
In another day and age, this would be called kidnapping and torture. However, since it is 2007 and we all live in the brave new world of the Bustard administration, today it is just called “extraordinary rendition” and “alternate interrogation” methods.
But enough of my fun filled vacation, at the taxpayers expense. The end result is that I, Mr. C, have seen the light. I now knows that my attempts at criticizing the Bushtard administration were just plain misguided and evil. I now see the light that Bush & Co. really want the average US citizen to be “happy” and “safe” from the big bad world of Islam-O-Fascism. I, Mr. C, now understand that the reason for the unprecedented secrecy of the Bush administration is because George and Dick know what is best for us and are taking care of business so that the rest of us won’t have our shopping time interrupted.
From this day forward, I, Mr. C, have pledged to be a model citizen. To only use my privilege of “free speech”, granted to me by the private contractors at my undisclosed vacation spot, to support the efforts of the Bush administration without question. I will soon be changing the name of this site from “The Conservatard” to “G.W. Bush is the only True God” site. Kind of catchy, don’t you think?
Editors Note:
Mr. C neither represents the opinions nor views of the editors of “The Conservatard”. In fact Mr. C will most likely be spending the next few weeks at a mental hospital, specializing in deprogramming brainwashed ex-cult members.
Until then we at the Conservatard’s editorial staff fully intend to keep on “stickin’ it to the man”, by pointing out and exposing the truth of the Bustard cabal and any one else that threaten the freedom and liberties of every U.S. citizen.
