We Spent a Lot of Money to Rebuild New Orleans?

August 29, 2007 · No Comments

Does anybody remember King George spouting something like the following,” We have allocated billions to rebuilding the Gulf Coast”, when questioned by a reporter about the total failure of the administration to rebuild New Orleans. Well, in case anybody has been asleep for the last seven years, a total BS answer like King Georges shouldn’t come as a suprise to anyone.

A a public service reminder, Robert Greenwald of Brave New Films has released a short video showing the sad state that New Orleans is still in, two years, and billions of federal dollars, after hurricane Katrina.

The question begs to be asked, if King George can’t rebuild New Orleans (here on the North American continent), how in the hell can he “rebuild” Iraq, on the other side of the globe?

One answer could be that he can’t rebuild New Orleans or Iraq. However, the most likely answer is, he will not rebuild neither New Orleans nor Iraq, nor does he really want to rebuild them. Rebuilding anything would go directly against the grain of the “Destroyer in Chief’s” adolescent mentality of, “kill them all and let God sort them out”.

Two Years after Katrina and thousands are still without homes.

R.I.P. - US Constitution and Bill of Rights: June 28,1788 to August 16,2007

August 21, 2007 · No Comments

Without fanfare for the common man, the Constitution of the United States of America and its sister document the Bill of Rights”was laid to rest on August 16th, 2007. Why August 16th you say? August 16th, 2007 is the day that a federal “jury” found Jose Padilla guilty of “terrorism” charges. Jose Padilla, a US citizen  has been held by the federal government, tortured, denied a jury of his peers, denied access to legal console. For a goodnight kiss, Padilla was handed a guilty verdict, by a jury of his “peers” that were either too stupid to know what they were doing, or too scared of the “Islam-O-fascist” bogyman to care.Vanishing Constitution

With a single guilty conviction, the jury in question has created a slippery slope that will allow the government of King George W. Bush to deny the “little people” of America their basic civil liberties. Without a single question of how the government handled the Padilla case, the American main stream media only reported the fact  Jose Padilla was found guilty of “terrorism”. Not even a peep of protest could be heard about the way that the federal government basically denied Padilla’s civil rights as a US citizen. Not a single analysis of how this “conviction” threatens the civil liberties that every US citizen is entitled to.

To explain the ramifications of the Padilla conviction, I will refer to someone that is far more knowledgeable that I am about constitutional law. The alternative news site called counterpunch.org published an analysis by former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration Paul Craig Roberts.  Below is Mr. Roberts take on how the Padilla case is in most likelyhood, the death blow the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

A Grave Blow to the Constitution

Padilla Jury Opens Pandora’s Box

By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

Jose Padilla’s conviction on terrorism charges on August 16 was a victory, not for justice, but for the US Justice (sic) Department’s theory that a US citizen can be convicted, not because he committed a terrorist act but for allegedly harboring aspirations to commit such an act. By agreeing with the Justice (sic) Department’s theory, the incompetent Padilla Jury delivered a deadly blow to the rule of law and opened Pandora’s Box.

Anglo-American law is a human achievement 800 years in the making. Over centuries law was transformed from a weapon in the hands of government into a shield of the people from unaccountable power. The Padilla Jury’s verdict turned law back into a weapon.

The jury, of course, had no idea of what was at stake. It was a patriotic jury that appeared in court with one row of jurors dressed in red, one in white, and one in blue (Peter Whoriskey, Washington Post, August 17, 2007).
It was a jury primed to be psychologically and emotionally manipulated by federal prosecutors desperate for a conviction for which there was little, if any, supporting evidence. For the jury, patriotism required that they strike a blow for America against terrorism. No member of this jury was going to return home to accusations of letting off a person who has been portrayed as a terrorist in the US media for five years.

The “evidence” against Padilla consists of three items:

(1) seven intercepted telephone conversations,

(2) a 10-year old non-relevant video of Osama bin Laden, and

(3) an alleged application to a mujahedeen (not terrorist) training camp with Padilla’s fingerprints. We will examine each in turn.

Why Haven’t I Heard About This On The News?

August 13, 2007 · 1 Comment

Mr. C gets this question all the time from friends, family and enemies alike. Whenever he points out the crimes of the Bushtard cabal, people always ask “why haven’t I heard about this Mr C.?”Like A Sheep to the Slaughter!

Mr. C usually responds, the American main stream media (MSM) is mostly owned by five multinational corporations. He makes the point that if you are a giant corporation that owns a news organization and several other divisions that provide everything from military equipment, government contracts and even commercial medical interests, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to “spin” any reports that could put you in a bad light? Most people acknowledge that they would do the same. This may be acceptable if the world was ruled by corporations, oh wait! , the world is ruled by corporations.

Unfortunately, the founding fathers relied on what is known as the “Fourth Estate” or a free and open press to help inform the public and help keep the government honest. They relied on a free press to help the average person become aware when the government or any organization is overstepping the law or the will of the people. That is why for years, mass media ownership was regulated by our government. Media ownership consolidation used illegal to prevent a few businesses from controlling the majority of media and news outlets. Unfortunately, the Regan administration and following administrations have either removed these limits or not enforced ownership laws of American media. The founding fathers are probably rolling in their graves and kicking themselves in the arse for not including wording in the constitution, forbidding media and press monopolies.

Not surprisingly, today’s American news outlets are more like corporate propaganda outlets rather than independent news organizations. As America is sleeping, or is too weak and frightened to say anything, their one time reliable news providers have been subverted by the interests of just a few corporate entities. At least in totalitarian countries, when you hear a news item from state supported agencies, people automatically know that most of it is lies and propaganda.

Here, in former United States of America, the corporate controlled MSM outlets are a little bit slicker. They have merged real news and propaganda, using physiological marketing techniques that have been crafted and perfected by corporations over the last century to sell things to consumers. The only difference is instead of selling physical products, they are selling ideals and beliefs in order to better control the population. The resulting “news” product is a slick, entertaining, half truth parade of corporate and government propaganda. The evening news today is more of an entertainment and propaganda advertising vehicle, than an informative information source.

Eventually, like all good herd animals, even the American sheeple start sensing that something is wrong with the news that they are ingesting. It seems that the American public is finally starting to catch on to the fact that their evening news is more propaganda than information. In a recent Pew Research Center survey, more than half of the American public thinks that American news agencies are both inaccurate and biased.

Hopefully, the American public will start seeking other sources of news and information. News that contains verifiable facts and information that can be used by people to help them see the truth from the lies. Exposing the lies of that the Bush regime and the corporations have been spoon feeing the American public over the last decade. Hopefully the American public will wake up to this fact before entering the chute to the slaughter house.
