How to save the youth and eliminate the national debt? Garrison Keillor has a plan.

August 30, 2006 · 3 Comments

Most libtards like me have been aware of Garrison Keillor’s work for years. Starting with his laid back an funny stories of Lake Woebegone to his current radio show” A Prairie Home Companion” which is broadcasted on NPR. What I didn’t know is that Mr. Keillor wrote political commentary as well.No health care for you!

In the Chicago Tribune editorial section today Garrison Keillor has written an editorial called “A modest plan for saving the country. Thanks in advance for the applause.”

In keeping with the dry whit that Mr. Keillor is known for, he presents the problems of the youth today. Saying that even though they might not be as knowledgeable as older adults, they are the future and we have an obligation to make sure the future is as good as it can be. He says that to take care of the future requires us as Americans to make sure the young have a good education.

What does Mr. Keillor propose as a solution?
His answer may surprise you.

Annual interest on the national debt now exceeds all government welfare programs combined. We’ll be in Iraq for years to come. Hard choices need to be made, and given the situation we’re in, I think we must bite the bullet and say no more health care for card-carrying Republicans. It just doesn’t make sense to invest in longevity for people who don’t believe in the future. Let them try faith-based medicine, let them pray for their arteries to be reamed and their hips to be restored, and leave science to the rest of us.

Cutting out health care to one-third of the population–the folks with Bush-Cheney bumper stickers, who still believe the man is doing a heckuva job–will save enough money to pay off the national debt, not a bad legacy for Republicans. As Scrooge said, let them die and reduce the surplus population. In return, we can offer them a reduction in the estate tax.

All in favor, blow your nose.

Mr. Conservatard says, bless you Mr. Keillor.

If you think the Conservatards are out of the ballot box stuffing business, think again!

August 27, 2006 · 1 Comment

It seems that our “liberal” U.S. media totally missed a little bit of ballot box stuffing and blatant disregard of the rights of all citizens of the United States of America. Dennis Hastert decided to swear in a Conservatard “elected” official before all the ballots were officially verified.

It took the reporting from an independent newspaper in New Zeeland called the Scoop of all places to bring the latest Conservatard vote rigging to stand up in the light.ballot_waste.jpg

The article was written by Michael Collins on Friday, 25 August 2006, 10:45 pm and is titled “Congressional Election Nullified – Nobody Noticed”

The 20,000 foot view of what is going on I think is better summed up by the author:

“On June 6, 2006 Republican Brian Bilbray allegedly slightly outpolled Democrat Francine Busby in the special election for California’s 50th Congressional District, despite Busby’s lead in the polls going into the election. There were immediate cries of foul following the election due to major irregularities, including electronic voting machines sent out to the homes and cars of volunteers for up to 12 days prior to the election, and irregular election results like huge mega-precincts of absentee ballots where turnout was thousands of percent more than registered voters..”

“On June 13, 2006, Bilbray flew to Washington, DC and was sworn in as a member of the United States House of Representatives by House Speaker Dennis Hastert.”

“On August 22, 2006 the defendants moved to dismiss, arguing that the swearing in of Bilbray deprives everyone else of jurisdiction including specifically the San Diego Superior Court because Art. I, sec. 5 of the US Constitution have been held to mean that the House and Senate are the judges of the Qualifications of their Members, one of those qualifications is supposed to be “election.””

“There is some thing very wrong with this sequence. Elections are not complete, anywhere, until they are officially certified by local authorities. How can a citizen get sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives before his or her election is certified? Only Speaker Dennis Hastert, his team, and Bilbray have the answer. “

Mr. Collins summary of the entire sorted incident is:

“We’re clearly at the point where members of the ruling party are making up rules post hoc to justify whatever actions they wish to take. We are also at a point where there is little if any opposition to this. The House is silent. With the exception of local and national voting rights activists and Chairman Dean, the opposing party is silent. The Defendants literally argue that the Courts are powerless to stop them (without jurisdiction). Friday will reveal whether the courts are powerless to stop this abuse of power and premature termination of elections.”

Mr. Conservatards summary is that the very right of the American voters is in danger due to Conservatards stuffing the ballot boxes and snatching power. The Conservatards have been pressing that all US voting districts to use these electronic voting machines that do not leave a voting trail. Heck I don’t blame them. If I was part of a failed political strategy and most voters hated me, I would start looking for alternatives to free elections as well.

It has been proven time and time again that these proprietary voting machines are not tamper proof. In fact it only take rudimentary programming skills to change the software, especially if you have direct unsupervised access to the machines for up to 12 days like in the California 50th congressional voting district.

When will the American media start covering things like this? I know that most Americans really only care about who is winning on Survivor, what the Hollywood Stars are doing, and if their sports team is doing well.

It comes to the point that your basic freedoms are being taken away from you by a very small group of elite Conservatards. A group of Conservatards that do not represent the best interests of the American public. It is time to wake up and start paying attention to the misdeeds of those currently in power. These are the same politicians that are abusing the powers that “We the People” give to them.

Conservatards are angry with the CIA for not making Iran the new boogeyman!

August 25, 2006 · No Comments

Just like  in 2002 and leading up thru the invasion of Iraq, the Bustards are trying to imagine new foes and dangers even greater than Iraq. Who do the Bushtard want the CIA to say the new “Boogeyman” is? Our old pals Iran, with its potential nuclear weapons, and trillions of gallons of oil.Why won't the CIA lie for us any more?

The New York Times has a nice article detailing the Conservatards moaning and groaning that the CIA won’t go out on a limb again and sell more lies to the American public.

The criticisms reflect the views of some officials inside the White House and the Pentagon who advocated going to war with Iraq and now are pressing for confronting Iran directly over its nuclear program and ties to terrorism, say officials with knowledge of the debate.
The dissonance is surfacing just as the intelligence agencies are overhauling their procedures to prevent a repeat of the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate — the faulty assessment that in part set the United States on the path to war with Iraq.

Hopefully the CIA and other intelligence agencies have learned their lesson about conservatard backstabbing. Hopefully they remember way back to 2002 when the administration got George Tennant the former CIA director to go along with selling the public a pack of lies about Iraq, and then summarily blamed the faulty intelligence on the CIA.

It’s all about your favorite team.

August 25, 2006 · No Comments

The following is a first for The Conservatard. We are proud to present our first contributed article.

This rant is from the Dissident formerly known as “Angry Chowder”.

Okay, this is a rant, but I didn’t feel like starting work right now anyway. Sorry for no links, but if you Google any of this, you’ll get more than you really want to know.Conservatard Plan for the Middle East.

It’s all about your favorite team. It doesn’t matter what we Americans do, we are the “good” guys. The other side is gay, kills babies, is soft on terrorism and wants to give your tax dollars to brown people. It’s a powerful argument to the sheeple.

Today people only watch TV news, if they follow the news at all. One of the most popular channels is a conservatard propaganda machine. For mainstream media it’s not in the interests of the “bottom line” to tell the truth. Don’t believe me? Then you may want to research who runs the major media corporations in this country sometime.

All the mainstream media have played for the past month is how Israel has “retaliated” against Lebanon for Hezbollah kidnapping two Jewish soldiers. The mainstream media has failed to mention that the day before Israel snatched two Lebanese people. The mainstream media also failed to mention that in June 2006; more than 20 Lebanese were killed by Israeli rockets. This includes a family on a beach having a picnic.

You see, the Israelis and the Americans wanted Syria to get involved in conflict because they back Hezbollah. Why do Israel and America want Syria to be involved in armed conflict? The reason is that right now there is a plan for a pipeline from Iraqi Kurdistan through Syria to Israel’s Mediterranean coast. America and Israel can’t invade Syria unless they have an excuse. And a good excuse would be if Syria is at war with Israel. Since America supports Israel, America would have all the excuse it needs to go in and smack Syria around until they realize that the “American Way” is the only way.

The Conservatards in power today follow the philosophy of Leo Strauss. Strauss said in the 1950’s that the masses shouldn’t be left to their own devices. The cornerstones of his philosophy are that that society is too “liberal” and free and is decaying from within. His main points are people need to unite in a common belief (Judeo-Christianity, of course) or against a common enemy. This enemy at first was the Soviet Union. After the Soviet Union collapsed Bill Clinton became the new enemy. After Bill Clinton was out of power, the new and current enemy became the Islamists. The neoconservatives also think that America has a duty to spread “civilization” to other repressed countries. However, it seems that Middle Eastern monarchies selling oil to America are exempt. Hmm……

It’s all about your favorite team. It doesn’t matter what we Americans do, we are the “good” guys. The other side is gay, kills babies, is soft on terrorism and wants to give your tax dollars to brown people. It’s a powerful argument to the sheeple.

The Dissident formerly known as “Angry Chowder”

Irving Kristol is the main disciple of Leo Strauss, along with his son Bill (editor of Weekly Standard), Richard Perle, Doug Feith, Paul Wolfowitz and, of course, Don Rumsfeld. They were all part of PNAC, the group that called for Clinton to overthrow Saddam Hussein in 1998. PNAC outlined a strategy to reshape the Middle East according to neo-conservatard plans, but were frustrated that without a “new Pearl Harbor”, American people wouldn’t go along with it. Of course, the “new Pearl Harbor” happened just about two years later, huh? Coincidence, I’m sure……

To anybody that really pays attention to what is happening in the world today the neoconservatives agenda is obvious. Today nobody can object about it or they will be labeled “Anti-Semitic” (notice that all these neo-conservatards are all Zionists who want to change the Middle East to advance Israeli influence in the region) or a “conspiracy theorist”. Throw in the fact that the actual conservatards in power are also soaked in the oil business, and we have all the right people making all the right money at the right time. It’s a perfect plan because Americans only really cares about shit like who’s going to win American Idol.

Israel keeps on killing Arabs with American-made weapons. Israel is a country that is the size of New Jersey, but has the world’s fourth largest military and the largest fleet of F-16s outside the US. In addition it has the only nuclear arsenal in the region. Neoconservatives are pushing their agenda of the “American Way” or else, and the oil barons are making profits hand over foot. Wondering why Islamists hate us?

For the right wing fundamentalist Christians that are in league with the neoconservatives, Israel has to exist and be protected. They believe that when the Baby Jesus comes back, he’s going to rule from the new Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Never mind that there’s a Muslim mosque on the exact site where the new temple is to be built. Which means, of course, the more desperate neoconservatives and their fundamentalist Christian allies get for the End Times, the more shit is going to hit the fan over there. Ever wonder why such a big deal was made about Iraq ignoring some UN resolutions, but nothing is said about Israel’s continued violation of UN resolution 242? They can’t leave the occupied territories because they’re afraid there would be no conflict over there anymore, and that is totally what is needed to keep the whole machine running.
Plus, our President’s family fortune was made partly from dealing with Nazi businesses during WWII (and into the 50’s, really). And the senior Bush has had the Bin Ladens’ out to the ranch since 1973.

So we have quasi-fascist philosophy running the country through “terrorist”-connected agents and war profiteers dripping with oil. That’s America, and if you’re not on our side, you’re a terrorist. And since we’re in a “war” on “terror”, the guy in charge has claimed unlimited power to do as he pleases. It’s brilliant.

Anyway, research all this crap and you’ll get it.

The Power of Nightmares: The Phantom Victory. Part 2 of 3

August 24, 2006 · No Comments

If you haven’t seen the first episode that I have posted earlier you can view it here at The Conservatard.

Part one began with the origins of the Neo-Conservatards and the radical Islamistards. How both formed their extreme social beliefs as a response to what they felt was the degradation of social standards due to free thinking and liberal philosophy.

The Conservatard is proud to present: The Power of Nightmares: The Phantom Victory. Part 2 of 3

In part two the story continues where both the Neo-Conservatards and the radical Islamistards unite to fight the “Evil Empire” during the remnants of the cold war. You are then introduced to “Public enemy Number One”, Osama Bin Laden.

Part two, the Phantom Victory looks at how two groups, radical Islamists and neo-conservatives with seemingly opposing ideologies came together to defeat a common enemy.

…On 25 December 1979, Soviet forces invaded Afghanistan.

Moscow was able to install a friendly government in a neighboring country but at a price.

The invasion gave a common cause to an extraordinary alliance of radical Islamists in Afghanistan and around the world and to the neo-conservatives in the US.

It was a key battleground of the Cold War.

….After nearly 10 years of fighting, Soviet troops pulled out of Afghanistan.

Both the neo-conservatives and the Islamists believed that it is they who defeated the “evil empire” and now had the power to transform the world.

But both failed in their revolutions.

Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land

August 23, 2006 · No Comments

I don’t know all the history of Israel and Palestine but I do know that is a messed up situation that goes back several generations.

Below is a video called “Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land”

I can’t really vouch for the objectiveness or validity of all the facts. However, it is well made, thought provoking and seems on the mark.

It coversIsrael’s 35 year occupation of theGaza strip and theWest Bank. It also covers
Israel’s ongoing campaign to distort the facts in the media. Especially the American Medias coverage of what happens to the Palestinians.

The saddest thing about all of this is that we as Americans have forgotten all about Israel’s other war with the Palestinians. Or should I really say what it is, a 35 year occupation.  “Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land “may serve as a reminder of how brutal and frankly unnecessary the Palestinian occupation really is.

So the next time you watch something on Foxtard News and you are seeing some Neo-Conservatard cheering on the Israelis. And that person is saying what a great job they are doing at kicking the “Terrorists” butts. You might just want to stop and think about what you saw in this video.

You might just want to stop and ask yourself. Would I like to live in an occupied city or state? How would I feel about an occupying army killing one of my friends or family? When you try to imagine yourself in the same situation that the Palestinians are in you might just understand why people turn to extremes in violence. If you lived under a brutal regime you might just not value life at all. You might be willing to throw away your own life and any one else’s that get in your way of ousting your occupiers.

I am not in any way condoning violence as a solution for anything. In fact violence, besides being wrong, often has the opposite effect of what is intended. Violence won’t solve the issues in the
Middle East or anywhere for that matter. Only peace will do that. And how do you achieve peace? It seems to me the only way to peace is thru negotiation, compromise and self restraint. All of which are much harder because peace requires people to be patient and a steadfast belief that violence is never the right choice for any situation.
